Is Your PC Machine-Enough For StarCraft2?

Nov. 18 1:28 PM by Scott Pytlik

I have talked to plenty of gamers out there who say "I can't wait for StarCraft 2! But, I'll have to upgrade my machine first." Well this post is for you. Kalos at StarCraftwire.net has done some more research and put together a list of hardware he recommends you buy if you are looking to upgrade for StarCraft 2.

The requirements I had in mind when selecting the below parts can be seen in my previous StarCraft 2 System Requirements article and to a lesser extent across the previous chapters of the Kalos Chronicles. Regarding the graphical requirements of StarCraft 2, we found solid proof from Blizzard's own development team when we uncovered the contents of the StarCraft 2 Graphics Requirements Confirmed article I wrote a few months back. With this in mind, a very quick and minimalistic summary for hardware requirements, here goes our current estimated recommendations:

First things first, what the contents of this Hardware Purchasing Guide are. This is basically a series of able and decently performing products aimed at providing a "Recommended" level of performance for the upcoming Starcraft II, which by current information would most likely be making its appearance some time in 2009.

arg... looks like i may have to build my own rig some time next year... ofcourse im going to see if my laptop cant run the game... then i will make the final call... just bought this thing last year, hate to think it couldn't play a blizzard game...

I think you might be alright...it'll be up to your graphics card though. Maybe running it on low settings will allow you to play it.

yeah, it can play WOW on max settings without so much as a stutter... of course thts not really much of a challenge... for now i think ill just concentrate on making more money just in case i need a new PC...

Yeah, you gotta look at it like an investment. Down the road there will be games like Diablo 3 you're definitely going to want to play too and you'll want a good machine with a great graphics card to play them. I paid for my machine on my credit card and paid it all off within 6 months. Wasn't a bad way to do it.
