Those crazy Koreans are at it again. This time they managed to create an entire Terran base, buildings units and all, in EA's new hit game, Spore.
I'm constantly amazed by the global reach that a 10 year-old game has and how passionate the fans really are. The StarCraft gaming community really is unlike anything else on earth. You could try and compare it to World of Warcraft but it just isn't the same. No one is creating guilds going online and spending countless hours hacking and slashing NPC's. They are chatting in forums all across the Web, designing original artwork, creating comic strips for Blizzard's new comic contest (more to come on this soon), constantly staying involved in the development of SC2 by furiously giving input to Karune and the Blizzard developers, and oh...occasionally hopping online for a quick skirmish in good-ol' Brood War.
I've seen a fair amount of Spore creatures being created in the image of StarCraft units, I've never bothered to blog about it because frankly, there's just so many of them and most of them weren't anything to write home about. But this, this stands on it's own level. I both praise and condemn whichever Korean(s) made this.
A.) It's unbelievably detailed and absolutely awesome.
B.) You have entirely too much time on your hands...please go outside and see the sun.
With that said, check out all of the screenshots after the jump.
An entire Terran base complete with supply depots, a barracks and a command center at the center. Incredible.
A Goliath
A Siege Tank
A Vulture
The detail that goes into this base and the units is really something else.
